Megan Layton Receives Christian Pueschel Citizen Award

  was awarded the Christian Pueschel Citizen Award
  for her excellent self-advocacy as a volunteer,
  employee and spokesperson. Please join us in

DSAGSL, St. Louis AAA Blues and Total Hockey hosting Hockey Camp!

  DSAGSL Hockey Camp
  Friday, August 1, 5 - 8p
  Saturday, August 2, 11a - 2p
  Hardee's Iceplex in Chesterfield
  Hockey Camp is especially for athletes with Down
  syndrome who love hockey. With instruction from
  NHL hockey players, a St. Louis AAA Blues Coach,
  St. Louis Blues Alumni, along with AAA athletes,
  campers learn the fundamentals that put them in
  the middle of the action, resulting in an authentic hockey experience.

Now Taking Applications for the Education Specialist Program!

Did you know that you can request teacher training in your child's IEP? Well the DSAGSL is now accepting applications to our Education Specialist Program! The Down Syndrome Education Specialist Partnership Program is a joint effort between greater St. Louis area schools, agencies, parents and the DSAGSL. The goal of the partnership is to provide support for educators, parents and professionals seeking to build a meaningful education for students with Down syndrome. This FREE four-part workshop begins in September and provides 20 hours of meaningful training as well as continuing education units. Please apply by August 15th and encourage your child's teacher and staff to do so as well!  Find more information here.

This exciting workshop features international speakers Patti McVay and Laurie Pachl. This unique team brings a wealth of information to assure the success of your student, including: processes, tools and ideas for curriculum planning, positive behavior supports, IEPs and more!
